Fund Raising Tips
Fundraiser tips and ideas on how to collect the most cell phones,
ink cartridges and other items
for your fundraiser:
Contact the large businesses and government offices in your
area. Ask if they will donate their retired items to your
organization to benefit your fundraiser.
Send your flyers out to everyone in your organization via e-mail
and/or postal mail and ask them to forward the information out
to everyone they know. Ask your fundraiser consultant to help
you design one or provide you with a template.
Contact cell phone stores and let them know that you are doing a
fundraiser. A lot of stores will be happy to donate the phones
they have already collected in their recycle bins.
Contact your city and state police departments and women’s
shelters. Many people donate their retired phones to the police
to be used for 911, etc. Most of these organizations end up with
quite a few phones and will be happy to donate their surplus.
Contact any retail stores or chains in your area such as grocery
stores, book stores, coffee shops. They can provide high-traffic visible areas to place an
e-waste collection bin. We can provide a label to place on
the bin advising people to donate their cell phones and others
items while
informing them of the benefits to your organization and the
environment. Make sure to include the collection bin locations
on your flyer.
Let everyone in your neighborhood know about your fundraiser
program. We have heard many success stories of people having a
neighborhood e-waste recycling event.
Individuals will want to donate their cell phones and other
items not only to
help your organization's cause, but they also can receive a
substantial legal tax deduction.
It’s important to let everyone know why you are doing a
fundraiser. If people know how the money will help your
organization and what your organization does, they will be more inclined to donate.
This is of course, another good way to promote your
organization.
Remember: Each year an estimated 150 million cell phones will be discarded. There will always be plenty of
cell phones for your organization to collect. Ink Cartridges are
estimated near 500 million each year. Collect any and
all cell phones (broken, obsolete, etc). We will pay for every
cell phone collected. You never have to pay for shipping phones
to Project KOPEG When you have 30 or more phones, request a
UPS Pickup.
